Ben left exactly 4 Saturdays ago today. I can't believe how fast time has gone but also how much we have done in that time. I think September, routine, and school are going to be a real shock for the boys. Right now life is one big adventure with family, friends, pools, rivers, sunshine and lots of ice-cream.
This last week, my Aunt, my cousin and his two kids have been visiting. It has been great to spend time with them and show them a bit of the area. Yared is having to learn that not everyone has his love of cuddles and closeness. He needs zero body space to feel comfortable and is always surprised to meet someone who doesn't like to be as close as possible at all times. Once I convinced him to back off a bit he had a great time with his relatives from across the sea. Nati is at a truly adorable phase right now and seems to win everyone over. There are still the random tantrums but overall he is a bundle of fun. Yared is his usual outgoing, full of life little man.
Before my sister moved over seas she and her family were out here for a weekend. One of the crazy adventures we had was trying my Dad's water slide. He built a slide from the pool up at the house down to the tree where Ben and I got married. It was fun, wild, and slightly dangerous when they tried a train. It has since been re-routed and now ends in a pond of sorts that works much better with less injuries. Here is my brave niece flying down the first more dangerous run.

Yared loved every second until his stomach met a rock.

Cousin Daniel thought it was a blast until a pile up left his wrist aching.

I didn't get a picture of Nati as I was too busy trying to slow him down. The smaller you are the faster you go.
I will post pictures of the new and improved version soon. Babu has spent many hours padding the ditch he dug with old carpet and plastic. It really is good he has 5 acres to dream up these crazy schemes and then make them into a reality. This is meant to last the summer only and it is a good ride.
Celebrating my big sister's birthday a month early as she will be so far away when the big day comes.

Rides on all the toys are a daily occurrence. There are bikes, trikes, wagons, go-carts and even a Polaris. Never a dull moment out here.

We took the British relatives into Yosemite. It is always breathtakingly beautiful but honestly the crowds took away some of the joy of going there this time.
Snack time at the river.

Bridal Veil falls is still big even in August as CA had so much rain this year.

Stop taking our picture mom.

First Big brother gives the little man a ride and then...

the other way around.

We miss you Ben/Daddy. Glad that one month is down!!!
