Moira's Halloween

This base we live on now has a Halloween party for the grown ups.  I had heard about this from Ben.  It becomes a big competition between the different commands and I have to say everyone goes all out.  Our command is in Afghanistan so just two of the wives, myself and my neighbor were able to go.  We chose to go as Seabees.  Their motto is We Build. We Fight.  We  found a bee costume and a kids construction set.  The glasses definitely made the deal.

The boys had two nights with a babysitter and they had a great time but this little man wasn't too excited that I was leaving last night.  But I promised both boys that I have no plans to leave them anytime soon.
 The two bees.
Some other friends in their outfits.
At the actual party all the wives of the deployed officers became the judges of the competition.  It was fun but also rather challenging as I am not kidding the costumes were REALLY well done.  They also had a pumpkin carving contest that had at least 4 amazing pumpkins.
It was a fun night and I had some good belly laughs at the crazy antics of some of the newest Seabee officers who are just finishing their training here.

Hair Cut Military Style

Where or where has Moira gone.  It really is almost impossible to stay on top of a blog right now but I am flattered that enough people notice the silence so I will try to keep putting up little tidbits of things happening in our lives.  This last week we decided we wanted to get hair cuts done.  We were talking to our fellow home schooling family and they said they did too so we made it a field trip of sorts.   We loaded up the minivans and hit the Military barber shop.  It was empty when we got there but by the time we left there were three young men waiting and I think they had a good laugh at three little boys giggling and shrieking for joy.   It was fun and Yared's hair looks amazing. I am not quite as fond of Nati's as I think I can do as good a job on him but hey he had a blast.
Before

This was a yell of joy.

His hair is a little harder to cut but he was so good and did the happy dance with the boys afterwards.

The after shot - 3 handsome boys.

This is at the grocery store afterwards.  They have a tv you can park your kids in front of while you shop.  We had never done this before but as all the kiddos were together we figured they were fine.  It is on the base so security isn't a huge issue.

The rest of these are bonus shots.  The boys can't decide what they want to be for Halloween but luckily we have three separate events and so they get to try out a variety of costumes.  I didn't get a shot of their first one but this was from yesterday.  I said it looked like Nait was going poo and Yared thought that was hilarious.  I love that I can mention poo and bring the house down.
A few weeks ago we went and visited friends with a very new baby.  The boys were dying to hold her and now they both want a baby sister.  I tell them to ask Jesus:).  Nati even includes "his baby sister" in family drawings.

This picture is for Dad.  Nati is oozing personality these days and I wanted Dad to see it in picture form.
